windows messenger coming on at startup

Hi all. I have a problem with windows messenger coming on at startup. I have unchecked the box that says start windows messenger when windows starts. This seems to fix it for a few days, and then it comes back, when I check again the box is still uncheck. Any suggestions of why this might be doing this? Thanks.

I've had the exact same problem Troy. For the first couple of months after I started using Windows Messenger it was fine. Then it started doing that. Every time I go into the preferences tab page and check and the uncheck the box again and tab to okay, it lasts for anywhere from a couple days to a couple weeks before it automatically comes on again.

I think it is a checkbox that you uncheck when you "sign in as" from the file menu. Don't forget that once you uncheck this box you will have to sign in each time you run messenger. But, since I've had this unchecked, I've not had the disappearing "run at startup" check.
